OVERVIEW
The purpose of this course is to develop knowledge and skills of
Division 2 Nurses in the area of mental health so that they are
able to work more confidently and effectively with people who have
a mental illness and are receiving treatment in hospital or
community settings. This course is suitable for: |

This course is
very practical and has been developed by experienced
psychiatric nurses. Each teaching session provides the
participant with knowledge and skills which are put into
practice in their clinical work between teaching sessions.
Theory and practice will be based upon the following
nationally endorsed units of competency:
CHCM1A Orientation to work in the mental health sector
CHCCOM3A Utilise specialist communication skills
CHCMH3A Provide support |
